I’m struggling to understand how this scene makes any sense at all.
And there were a couple more fare inspectors lurking about Bush Street out of frame:

Hey SFMTA! Why don’t you put this amount of effort into “inspecting” how much money the average cable car operator skims each and every shift?
Hey SFMTA! You’re the worst large transit agency in the United States.
Hey SFMTA! Why don’t you throw me a few thousands of dollars* and then I’ll become a MUNI cheerleading, MUNI suck-up, MUNI kiss-ass website like, I don’t know, MuniDiaries.com?
Hey SFMTA! This is what you pay people $32 an hour plus bennies to do, sit around all day in a group chit chatting and waiting for a bus to come by every half-hour or so?
Hey SFMTA! What was this, training day?
One lady got off this N Judah Express and said “I don’t have time for this” as she just walked on off. And nobody from the SFMTA did nothing, oh well.
*Actually, this site you’re looking at right here gets more traffic than Muni Diaries(TM**), so I’ll have to demand more compensation*** than what you paid them for this shameful partnership sellout deal.
**”Muni Diaries (TM)?”

Sure looks that way:

PS: MUNI sucks.
PPS: In 2012, we can see a cheerleading bus ad for MUNI inside of a MUNI #71 Haight-No. Mmmm… My, how things have changed since 2011:
“First of all, Jeff, I’m not your buddy! Second your admission that “For nearly three years, we’ve published Muni news on the site, and have always tried to do so in the most constructive way possible” simply affirms what I stated in my original post. MD is a cheerleading site for Muni. That’s all I was getting at. The Diaries takes the position that Muni is a worthwhile and valuable asset to our community. I take the opposite and more realistic position that it is not.”
PPPS: So, you see, saying that MUNI sucks whenever possible is constructive because it assures everyone that you’re not on the payroll of the SFMTA…

What are you plans for the night of Wednesday, March 24th, 2010?
Option One is Meet Your Mar featuring District One San Francisco Supervisor Eric Mar:
“The League of Young Voters presents…MEET YOUR MAR from 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM at Park Life (220 Clement @ 3rd) on Wednesday March 24th. FREE! There will be art, snacks, drinks, tunes, a bunch of fresh kids chillin…plus Eric Mar, chattin and getting schooled about his constituents (ie, you). Come play human bingo (to win Park Life gear!), ask Mar questions, and tell him what he should really be working on in your hood. It’s his job to listen.”
A recent Critical Mar bike rally on Clement the Richmond District:

That’s Option One.
Option Two will occur at about the same time. It’s an Inforum event at the Commonwealth Club: “If Not the Chronicle, Then What?” / “Who is the New Face of San Francisco Media?“
First up at 6:30 PM is a panel called ”If Not the Chronicle*, Then What?”
Jeff Hunt, Editor, Muni Diaries
Brock Keeling, Editor, SFist.com
Michael Maness, VP of Innovation and Design, Gannett Co. Inc.; Director, The Bold Italic
Robin Sloan, Media Partnerships, Twitter – Moderator
Then, after that, it’s “Who is the New Face of San Francisco Media?”
“Sites like SFist.com and the Muni Diaries are doing more than just keeping San Franciscans in the know about the latest bar openings or bus brawls. They represent the shift to a new media model based on the interest and participation of the many; gatekeepers no longer decide what the masses want to see or hear, or who gets to give it to them. With heavy-hitting new media companies like Twitter, Yelp, Digg, Wikipedia and Flickr headquartered in the city, it’s no wonder that San Francisco is widely regarded as the home of new media. Get an insider’s perspective from the new leaders of media in SF.
“Where do you go for your daily local news jolt? Whose writing is so fresh, witty, hilarious or gutsy that you savor each piece like it’s the last of the cake? After the panel, we are hosting up-and-coming media personalities of San Francisco, invitation provided by you. Tell us who just HAS to be there, then vote for who should be crowned king or queen of SF new media. Come to the party to meet, mingle andgush your fandom in person!
“What is INFORUM?
The idea of INFORUM began with the basic tenet that young people not only deserve but desire unbiased, trustworthy information from a full range of stances, and that they want their sources qualified. The Commonwealth Club has a 103 year tradition of civic debate, and INFORUM honors and continues this tradition by providing a forum for young people to access the best informed, most involved, and brightest minds – be they politicians, business gurus, policy workers, thought leaders, trendsetters or culture-jammers.
The voting’s all over on this one, but feel free to cheer loudly when they whip out a tiara for the crowning ceremony.
Deets below. See you there, who knows maybe at both places.
*I know what you’re thinking - petitio principii, right? Like, what if the San Francisco Chronicle is the new San Francisco Chronicle?

See those letters in solid-colored circles at the bottom of the Kaiser Permanente “thrive” bus stop ad near Geary and Gough? That just might earn Kaiser a cease and desist letter from Lester G. Freundlich, Senior Associate Counsel, Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Just check out beloved local website Muni Diaries here and here to learn of the metaphorical long-distance beat-down 40WithEgg recently received all the way from the Empire State.
The problem comes from using circled capital letters while referencing a transit theme.
Well let’s see dare ah, you’se got an “A,” in dare - what’s youse guys doin’ wit our freaking “A”? Click to expand:

Of course, you’d think that Kaiser would have looked at this issue already, but you never know.
These days, Joe Moore appears to be off of the thin ice for now, but who knows what the future will bring. Will he get sued by MUNI?
Possibly. Oh well.
Give those New Yawkers Hell, Joe. And Kaiser, you too.
Let’s close with a sample of a scary cease and desist letter. Cheers.
Dear Mr. Smith:
Your above store was selling through website www.Cafeshops.com a variety of T-shirts based upon Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s trademarks for various routes of the New York City subway system.
The symbols for the routes of the New York City subway system are MTA intellectual property which may not be used on products without a license from MTA. In the absence of a license for these products, you must immediately cease to sell the unlicensed products.
On the basis of the above, at MTA’s demand, www.cafeshops.com has removed your shop from its site.
This is to demand that, if you are manufacturing or selling these products through any other channel, you must cease and desist immediately.
Please respond immediately in writing to me at the address indicated below or by email at the address indicated below, by completing the applicable statements on page 2 and returning this letter to me.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Lester G. Freundlich
Senior Associate Counsel
Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Well, if it’s around 9:00 AM and you’re by yourself, the answer is this - not very long at all. You might get in a few stanzas at the top of your lungs, but expect a Deputy Sheriff or Senior Deputy to appear in the doorway after a minute or so (or maybe a little longer if the thriftiest of them are off “feeding the meter“).
Then they’ll all come out, maybe with a Sergeant if you’re lucky. But they won’t care a whit about your bible or your beef or whatever. They’ll just make sure you pipe down and/or move along.
This man was emphatic while making his point about his bible:

It’s your choice.
[UPDATE: The same fellow as seen 14 months ago in a recent MUNI Diaries post. Perhaps they give you a longer amount of time to get your pont across on MUNI? Probably.)
