Attention Bay Area Pilots: Don’t Get Too Creative with Your Airplane’s “N” Number

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Here’s what you can’t do with your aircraft’s tail number. What you can’t do is get all creative to the point where people can’t read it.

‘Cause when you go flat-hatting over San Francisco’s Ferry Building in your aging Piper PA-34-200T Seneca II, you need to have your license plate legible for tout le monde to see. That’s how the system works.

What you can’t do is take away the middle part of the ID numbers leaving all the 0’s, 3’s, 6’s, and 8’s looking alike. That don’t fly.

The turbocharged Piper Seneca II, for the times when your Saratoga can’t get you there fast enough:

Click to expand, not that it will help legibility.

Anyway, people need to know who pilots are for the times they land on the wrong end of the runway ‘n stuff.

D’accord? Oui, d’accord.

Now, Go Forth And Sin No More.

Conan O’Brien Plays San Francisco April 22-23: $74 a Ticket, Meet Coco for Just $695

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

[UPDATE: OMG COCO is finally here. Follow the action via Twitter at #cobnob.]

Oh, it’s on. It’s going to be Coco a Gogo when Conan O’Brien’s “half-assed” 32-city Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour 2010 comes to the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium April 2223. It’ll be just like 2007 all over again.

“Full Price Tickets” from TicketMonster are going right now for $74, all up. And for just $695 you can get in on the Meet and Greet Package– wouldn’t you like a photo of you and Conan to put on the FaceBook for all your “friends” to see? Sure you would.

I don’t know, maybe you can score some cheaper ticks by using your AmEx card or going to the box office or something.

See you there!

Death Throes of Partying Poleng Lounge – State College, PA Comes to NOPA

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Sleepy Fulton Street betwixt Masonic and Central has been looking like something like State College, PA, where college kids from the country’s number one party school hang out ’til all hours. It all has to do with the final days of the Poleng Lounge (located in the place that used to house Storyville).

Last night almost looked like SoMA:

Last night’s shindig:

“Let’s get together to celebrate the death and destruction of the things that we love, and cope in the best way possible: By getting trashed and making terrible life choices… like dancing topless, and sleeping with 18-year-old filipino chicks from Daly City.

There will be $5 Jungle Juice that is like 3 drinks shrunk down to one drink that tastes like skittles. There will be $3 drafts. There will be lots and lots of whiskey.

THIS EVENT IS 18+!!! Bring your little sister, that hair-scene kid you made out with once at Blow Up, the skater kids you see at Delirium and house parties, and ONLY at Delirium and house parties”

Party on, Poleng Lounge.
