Just saying, Broseph.
Seen a mess of the them just ambling about Market lately especially the south of the slots, two by two.
Just my observation.

Usually, the private security patrols I see are in economy cars with the name of the company prominently displayed.
This car is meant to trick people into thinking a peace officer is inside and/or impress clients.

Anyway, this is unusual in the 415…

You know, I think a cowboy from 150 years ago would totally get this scene. You have a constable with a hat and a gun and a pair of boots, mounted on a horsey, looking for thieves on Market Street near a set or train tracks:

Park your ride on stair railings at the new Metreon and this is what will happen – you’ll get a note like this taped on:

Here’s your mise-en-scene with legally parked bikes in the foreground and illegally parked bikes in the background:

See them all? Every bike has a note. (How many reams of paper does the Metreon go through in a week?)
Obviously, there’s no more parking spaces left on the north side, Metreon.
Why not put this on your list of things to do, Metreon? More bike parking near Mission where it’ll get used…

Open containers of alcohol, that is.
It looks exactly like this – note the bottle of Jack:

Oh, and there’s a “no smoking” law here as well, if you catch my drift, man.

All’s I’m saying is that the cops don’t enjoy this exercise neither.
So why not do as they want and just put your booze in a giveaway plastic water bottle?
Like this:

Now you’re protecting your juice AND making the cops happy.
This concludes What It Looks Like When “The Man” Patrols Golden Gate Park

This kind of scene is new to me, with a bunch of cops just milling about the Mid-Market recently:

Dragon-fighting alligator wrestler Phil Bronstein claims to have gone on patrol with the out-of-control San Francisco Chapter of the Guardian Angels last Friday en la Mision, but, but there have been zero (0) reports of concomitant mayhem since then.
I smell a rat.
Mission Mission had something something about it, but where are accounts, where are the reports of something like a couple dozen Norteños checking into the SF General?
I mean, is this a real photo?

Could be.
I mean this will certainly tamp down street crime in the crime-ridden Uptown Tenderloin, at least just for the immediate area.
Maybe they were standing around for a particular reason or maybe this reflects a recent change in deployment. We’ll see.
As seen at Sixth and Market:

KALW‘s Steven Short finds Bolinas, CA a “friendly town” – check out his new CrossCurrents bit here, why not?
Now, here’s my version of the story. Enjoy:
Inbetwixt the friendly elephant seals of the Point Reyes National Seashore…

(This was from at least double the official keep-away distance, we’re talking hundreds of yards, so I don’t want to hear it. Made using the remarkable 1999-2010 Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM and EF 2x II Extender, handheld.)
…and the friendly regular seals of Bolinas Lagoon…

…you’ll find the unfriendly town of Bolinas, CA:

The reason why the locals, some of whom, for some reason, feel quite empowered to bully auslanders, always tear down the road signs on the Pacific Coast Highway is because their USPS letter carrier already knows how to get there.
Fin.

New Recreation and Park Department Director Phil Ginsburg probably beat you out of bed yesterday morning, based upon this account written up in his new SF Rec and Park Blog. (Phil went to UC Hastings College of Law, so he’s just another blogging lawyer that you don’t know is a lawyer, like Richmond District Police Captain Corriea and his Richmond District Police Community Relations Forum, for one.)
Read “Day 21: A Visit Through GGP at Dawn” to learn about Golden Gate Park‘s overnight camping rules and how the Park Rangers enforce them.
You know people are camping in GGP when you see all those empty propane bottles strewn about:

And check it:
“I’m told there are actually underground websites that inform people on how and where to camp illegally in Golden Gate Park.”
Did not know that.
Anyway, check out the blog if you want to see Phil’s impressions of this and that.
