Thursday, April 5th, 2012North Beach News has the deets on this police call in North Beach from the other day.
“We had multiple reports yesterday of an incident at DiMaggio that led to some of the ROTC kids crying on the playground. Checking with Captain Tacchini at Central Station, he tells us “The incident involved a neighbor who was complaining about the apparent noise being caused by a group of young girls participating in ROTC practice in the park. The neighbor was aggressive and intimidating and causing fear and disruption to the girls’ practice session. Officers responded to calm the situation and make sure nobody was in harm’s way.”

“Today, our regular threatening neighbor (the man with the glasses) charged at one of the teams and demanded our personal information and even tried to take a picture. After a series of arguments and trying to get through to the man, the police got involved. A local…I guess…volunteer? who uses the grounds saw the commotion and called 9-1-1. The police came, and guess who was wrong? The man…he was charged for harassing a group of youth. (It really makes an impression when all of GDT are in tears)”

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010You know what Mad Men’s Don Draper would say about this Thursday’s Great California ShakeOut Earthquake Drill? He’d say that if it was really all that great, then you wouldn’t need to have the word “great” in the name.
But no matter, all’s you have to do now is make a mental note and then when All Hell Breaks Loose on Thursday, 10-21, at 10:21* AM you can tell those around you to keep calm because it’s just a drill.

Stanford’s Cardinal and White Spring Football Game at Kezar Stadium a Huge Success
Saturday, April 17th, 2010Thousands of Stanford University fans turned up at Kezar Stadium today for the annual Cardinal and White game:
“In keeping with past practice, Coach Jim Harbaugh used a draft to divide the roster into Cardinal and White teams. Assistant Lance Anderson, who will coach the Cardinal, had the first pick and took quarterback Andrew Luck. Assistant Tim Drevno, who will coach the White, was then given three selections. It’s a full-contact scrimmage for everyone except Luck, who is off limits to tacklers.”
This was a big deal – Mayor Newsom went and declared today “Stanford Football Day in San Francisco”
It all happened beneath UCSF medical school and our cardinal and white Sutro Tower:

They even brought up 16 cheerleaders, who rooted for both sides.
