The Lincoln Lawyer: Know Your Tall, Bearded, Republican Pols – Supervisor Scott Wiener and President Abraham Lincoln

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

Have you seen the Sunday NYT? It features San Francisco’s very own Supervisor Scott Wiener.

Check it and note the closeted Republican theme.

All right, babe, try to pose like Abraham Lincoln – that’s it, sober, sober, c’mon give me a lot more sober, that’s it, hold it, hold it, CLICK:

Oh what’s that, Gentle Reader? You’ve been to City Hall and you know for a fact that the wood inside the big chambers up on the second floor doesn’t actually glow IRL.? All right, well let’s tone that down, thusly:

How about a Lincoln hat? Here you go:

Now we’re going to lose the hat but go full desaturated. I think we’ve reached endgame:

District Five Meltdown: The Problems with the Three Front Runners – Christina Olague, London Breed and Julian Davis

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

[UPDATE: Yoops, this ended up not being the order of finish. Hey, perhaps Rose Pak is merely a paper dragon lady, powerless outside of the Realm of Stencil Voters and Oppressed (by Rose Pak et al) Newcomers? It's sure looking that way.]

In order of finish:

1. Back in the day, Christina Olague accepted the deal that Julian Davis and who-knows-who-else rejected. So that meant that she worked on the Run Ed Run campaign in exchange for the promise of later getting appointed as Supervisor of District Five.

Before, she was the Perjurer’s Helper, but is she now?

I don’t know. We’ll see.

IMO, her rise to power is (still, very possibly) a trap. We’ll see.

Despite recent events involving Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi, Christina Olague is still the choice of Rose Pak, Randy Shaw and the rest of San Francisco’s corrupt, government-subsidized, non-profit cabal.

And, apparently, CO is NOT the choice of the Ron Coates / Linda Voight / Ron Conway / Gayle Conway / Republican billionaire / real estate interests side of Willie Brown’s / Ed Lee’s conservative (for San Francisco) Democratic party faction.

You see, there’s a schism, these days, that’s wide out in the open for all to see. So, one side of the faction supports Eric Mar and Christina Olague and the other side supports David Lee and London Breed.

Speaking of which:

2. London Breed is the choice of the Ron Coates / Linda Voight / Ron Conway / Gayle Conway / Republican billionaire / RE interests side of Willie Brown’s / Ed Lee’s conservative (for San Francisco) Democratic party faction.

As she states, she can’t tell the Republican Billionaires of the Bay Area et uxes to stop supporting her, but why would they be spending all that money?

Mmmm…

That leaves us with:

3. Julian Davis, who recently DNQ’ed

Joe, I want to clarify that when you called me yesterday you did not tell me what you were calling about and I did not receive a call back later in the day. I am not going to comment further about anonymous uncorroborated attacks coming from your publication a week before Election Day. Voters I talk to in the streets are intelligent enough to see past the politics of personal destruction. Their concerns are real—a more affordable city, improved public transit and a better climate for small business, to name a few. Your readers would benefit from substantive reporting on these issues and on how the candidates differ on them. Julian Davis

Pwned:

Julian –Shortly after noon yesterday, I phoned your lawyer and asked him about the letter. Immediately afterward, I called you. You said you were on another call and asked if this was urgent. I replied that you should call me back as soon as you could. You said you would, and I was left with the impression you would phone back when you were off your call. That didn’t happen, and I got your voicemail when I called you at 2 p.m. Sadly, you did not call us back before our story went up at 8:30 this morning. This most recent allegation is neither anonymous nor uncorroborated. While the accuser’s name is not printed in our article, it was most certainly affixed on the letters she sent to you and your attorney. I agree with you that our readers would benefit from reporting on “a more affordable city, improved public transit, and a better climate for small business.” I disagree with you that we aren’t reporting on these issues:

Sincerely yours, Joe Eskenazi

So that takes care of that.

Oh, and who else? Thea Selby should have taken steps after news of that $10k of RE money had spread. She didn’t. (Perhaps she’s the other candidate that Mayor Ed Lee is “privately” telling his inner circle to vote for? Mmmm.)

And it looks like John Rizzo made some sort of deal with Christina Olague or whomever functions as the Progressive version of Walter Wong these days. We’ll find out what his reward is apres-election.

That’s my best guess.

District Five Meltdown: Here’s the Entire Ad Against Christina Olague and Julian Davis and “Shell Oil”

Monday, November 5th, 2012

Oh, well, here’s the whole thing, or at least all of the back of the mailer.

(When they say Shell Oil, what they mean is Shell Energy North America.)

District Five Meltdown: Republican-Backed Hit-Piece Against Olague and Davis Features Solar-Powered Shell Station

Monday, November 5th, 2012

This is from the already-famous hit-piece mailer regarding Shell Energy and some candidates for District Five Supervisor.

Now, why did the dumb-clucks who made this ad decide to pick the world’s most solar-powered gas station?

District Five Meltdown: How Linda Voight and Ron and Gayle Conway Spend their Money to Make Olague and Davis Look Evil

Sunday, November 4th, 2012

This is how they do it, with a flyer in the mail talking about how Christina Olague and Julian Davis support  giving nearly $20,000,000 a year to Shell Oil.

See?

Now, is that true?

No.

But it appears that Christina Olague and Julian Davis have run afoul of a few PG&E-loving Bay Area billioniares, et uxes.

Now, I’d call this cabal Conway/Coates, but they, and I’m seriously, call themselves:

“San Francisco Women for Accountability and a Responsible Supervisor Opposing Christina Olague 2012.”

So that’s SFWFAAARSOCA 2012 for short, sort of.

Here’s Tim Redmond’s take:

So-called DV group doing PG&E’s dirty work

Fair ‘nough.

But hey, do you see the orange skies up there, right where the heads of the progressive D5 front-runners have been Photoshopped?

Mmmm…

Hey, I know, let’s take Linda Voight and Photoshop her into a shot of the Great PG&E Pipeline explosion of San Bruno.

Thusly.

I see dead people:

Now doesn’t she look evil?

I think so.

Shadowy “PROSF” Association Leader Hosts Meeting with Christina Olague Last Month, Gets Repaved Block This Month

Thursday, August 23rd, 2012

This here is the flyer posted on a street in the “West Panhandle” area last month by the more-or-less anti-SF “PRO-SF” Homeowners Association.

Well, a slightly modified, Run Ed Run version – don’t click to expand

And this here is this month, on the same block, the very short block where the leader of PRO-SF, a Helen Lovejoy type, a person who worked against the harmless, SFPD-supported Panhandle Bandshell music project back a half-decade ago just happens to reside.

You see that? A quick repaving job, just for one block, just ten weeks before the District Five Supervisor election:

Now, are other blocks getting repaved? Yes, occasionally. But not anywhere close to here. And now the DPW pavers are gone. poof. Who knows when they will return. Next year, next decade? And hey, was this block so bad to begin with? Nope.

Is this process of where to pave when, you know, highly politicized? Yes, pretty much – it’s the same with the SFMTA and other agencies.

Is there a connection between the location of the real estate of a single fussbudget and where DPW decides to repave this week this month this year? I don’t know.

But other Chicago-style, Blagojevichy stuff goes on about town, so why not this too?

LONDON CALLING: London Breed Goes Off on Rose Pak and Willie Brown and Luke Thomas Gets It Verbatim

Tuesday, August 21st, 2012

I think District Five Supervisor wannabee London Breed is still a little pissed off about not getting appointed Supervisor earlier this year, just a little:

You think I give a fuck about a Willie Brown at the end of the day when it comes to my community* and the shit that people like Rose Pak and Willie Brown continue to do and try to controls things.  They don’t fucking control me – you go ask them why wouldn’t you support London because she don’t do what the hell I tell her to do.  I don’t do what no motherfucking body tells me to do.”

Hey, you think maybe she’s been watching YouTube, just a little?

Hey, you know, the two times when Mayor Ed Lee did a little independent thinking since Willie Brown and Rose Pak got him appointed Mayor are when he appointed the fairly stupid Christina Olague to replace Ross Mirkarimi and when he advocated for the complete non-starter “stop and frisk program.”

Perhaps he should just do what he’s told 100% of the time instead of 90% of the time?

Wow, Another Blow for Interim D5 Supervisor Christina Olague: Assemblymember Tom Ammiano Endorses John Rizzo

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

Gee, what’s wrong with appointed Supervisor Christina Olague, you know, if she can’t even get endorsed by her own Assemblymember?

Anyway, here’s the news of the day:

“Assemblymember Tom Ammiano Endorses John Rizzo for District 5 Supervisor

SAN FRANCISCO — Longtime San Francisco activist and California Assemblymember Tom Ammiano has endorsed John Rizzo for District 5 Supervisor.

Ammiano has served San Francisco for three decades as a teacher, civil rights leader, SF School Board President, Supervisor, and Assembymember. He cited Rizzo’s leadership experience, both with City College and as a Sierra Club leader, as well as his commitment to finding creative and effective solutions to today’s biggest problems.

“In the years I’ve known John Rizzo, he has proven his dedication to public education, a greener San Francisco, and civil rights,” said Ammiano. “He’ll bring the kind of progressive policy solutions we need to City Hall, and has the experience to get them passed.”

“I am honored by Assemblymember Ammiano’s endorsement,” said Rizzo. “We have always shared values on issues such as education and the environment and I’m proud that he supports my bid for Supervisor.”

The endorsement comes at a great time for Rizzo’s campaign, which has been building momentum through an intensive field program that has seen campaigners on the ground in the District every day.

John Rizzo is also endorsed by Senator Leland Yee, Supervisor Eric Mar, the Sierra Club, and other elected officials and community and business leaders.

John Rizzo was twice elected to the Community College Board and is the former chair of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club. He has a proven track record as an effective leader in government and education, in protecting the environment, parks and Muni, and in bringing jobs to San Francisco. Some of his accomplishments include spearheading adoption of the GoSolarSF program which quadrupled the city’s solar capacity and created hundreds of jobs, and creating a “local hire” initiative at City College, which ensures that San Franciscans are put to work on taxpayer-funded construction projects.

As a 27-year resident of District 5, John raised his daughter through San Francisco public schools and is a dedicated MUNI rider. He is committed to fighting for our neighborhoods, our schools, and our city.

So, add that to this list of Endorsements:

The Sierra Club

Leland Yee, State Senator

Eric Mar, Supervisor

Jake McGoldrick, Former Supervisor

Milton Marks, Trustee, College Board

Natalie Berg, Trustee, College Board

Chris Jackson, Trustee, College Board

Steve Ngo, Trustee, College Board

Interim Supervisor (and So-Called Progressive) Christina Olague, Ed Lee, and Stop and Frisk – How Does This Make Sense?

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

All right, work with me here, people.

1. So-called Progressive Christina Olague worked hard on the RUN ED RUN campaign so that “Interim” Mayor Ed Lee, the San Francisco Republican Party’s choice, would beat actual Progressive John Avalos in the mayoral race last year. So that Ed Lee could try to … promote his stop and frisk approach to law enforcement. So how can Olague be a Progressive if she worked to elect the standing leader of the conservative faction of San Francisco politics?

2. And uh, doesn’t San Francisco already have a stop and frisk policy? I think so! Let’s go to the videotape HTML:

United States v. Hernandez, No. CR 08-0730 WHA (N.D. Calif. 1-6-2011)

San Francisco police officers observed three men whom they believed to be members of the MS-13 gang standing in front of a restaurant. A no-loitering sign was posted in the restaurant window. The officers watched the men for a few minutes, but observed no threatening or gang-related behavior. The officers approached the men to advise them about the no-loitering policy, and despite the lack of any threatening behavior, conducted a pat-down search of each one.”

Uh, doesn’t that sound like a recent instance of stop and frisk? It does to me! But this particular instance was ruled to be unconstitutional.

So, we have a stop and frisk policy RIGHT NOW in San Francisco, but apparently the SFPD isn’t going far enough with it, in the eyes of Accidental Mayor Ed Lee, anyway, and yet the SFPD ALREADY goes too far with it, like right now.  So how does that make any sense?

All right, here’s your San Francisco stop and frisk answer key:

1. Christina Olague leans to the left in San Francisco politics but she partnered with the dominant political faction, the conservative one, in order to get appointed as Supervisor for District Five for nine years. Of course, that meant that she had to strongly favor the Republican choice over somebody like John Avalos, somebody who would never forward vague unconstitutional-sounding ambiguities as Mayor Ed Lee has recently done with the stop and the frisk. But if she hadn’t done that then there’d be no way she’d ever get elected Supe on her own, so that’s the decision she made.

2. I’m still at a loss on this one.  San Francisco already has a stop and frisk program that already pushes past the limits (at times, anyway, certainly) of what courts are going to allow and yet Ed Lee wants a stop and frisk program. I’m guessing that the murder rate ‘n stuff is way up recently so Ed Lee wants to be able to point to something that he attempted to do about it. IRL, this whole concept was an obvious non-starter from the get-go.

Thus concludes Interim Supervisor (and So-Called Progressive) Christina Olague, Ed Lee, and Stop and Frisk – How Does This Make Sense?

Will the Real District Five Supervisor Christina Olague Please Stand Up? Meet Her Tonight at the D5 Democrats Meeting

Christina Olague, 2012, after helping the San Francisco Republican Party elect so-called “interim” Mayor Ed Lee to a four-year term through her efforts with the Rose Pak-backed Run Ed Run organization:

And so on.

Hey, you can meet her tonight at Martin Macks bar:

Now, former Mayor Willie Brown contends that Christina has been allowed to vote against Mayor Ed Lee already, you know, so she’ll appear to have not become a sellout. Mmmmmm.

Either Ed Lee has made a mistake or C.O. is a sellout, it’s got to be one or the other.

We’ll see.
