So this is a little meta, non? It’s a car what’s advertising car advertising.
See? It’s all, “This car runs on Advertising.”

I don’t know, if I wanted to create gridlock in SoMA / Financial / Union Square, I think I’d hire some jackasses to drive “mobile billboards” around the block and around the block all day long.
“Blocking the box” yesterday with a mobile billboard truck in the middle of the intersection of 3rd Street and Market:
“Hey everybody! Stop everything and look at me!”
Reverse angle – now the driver is only blocking one lane of 3rd Street:
Note the Washington state license plates.
And here’s the result of the advertising trucks. Gridlock:
Oh well.
“Blocking the box” is illegal these days, but the SFPD doesn’t really hand out tickets for that, so have at it.
Now I’ll tell you, Lyft taxi, a service that you just might like, isn’t legal, but mobile billboards, a “service” that you don’t like, are legal, more or less.
Isn’t it ironic?
Don’t cha think?
Seriously? You car dealer convention people are circling trucks (they have no cargo except for the ads) about SoMA all day long?
Just to make more of a traffic jam?
And your company is called Traffic Jam Events?
This rolling ad assumes you inherited a car dealership from your father:

Or maybe this is performance art? I can’t tell.
We’re kicking cars off Market to make room for more ad trucks? Srsly?
Yuuuuuup.
Is this how you roll, DPH?
I don’t know, I’m the last person who’s going to die from the flu so that’s why I don’t get a shot when the new doses come out every year. I’d be taking a shot from someone who needs it more than I, right?
Yes, this looks like a truck, but it doesn’t carry anything except the message on its side:

Nice black power salute (or actually, blueredmustard-united power salute) motif tho, DPH. Very street, very gritty.*
In closing, I don’t know, is this how you roll, DPH? Really?
*In Marin, they use a family of cartoon cows, I’m seriously.
You see this truck from “Eye Catching Media?” All it does is circle around San Francisco carrying a billboard. There’s nothing inside of it.
As seen on “car free” Market Street, yet another turbocharged, intercooled diesel:

Is this what we want? Could we craft a law affecting these rigs that would be constitutional? Yep. Are we doing anything now? Nope.
So maybe this is what we want…
Hey look what was parked on JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park, soon to become a National Park, during Opening Night of the 2008 Outside Lands music festival. That’s right, it’s our old friend, the Do It Outdoors MGD Beer rolling billboard.
Except this time, it wasn’t rolling. It was parked in the same place for what seemed to be hours, emergency blinkers clickety-clicking away.
From Wisconsin with love:
Which is worse:
1. A rolling billboard driving around one block over and over again on the streets of San Francisco?
or
2. A rolling billboard parking in the same place for a long time in Golden Gate Park?
Does the Miller Brewing Company, maker of beer with “fruity, hoppy undertones” per its yuppified website, know how its product is being promoted over here?
