Come to the Night Safari at the Conservatory of Flowers

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

This is what butterflies and moths look like at the Conservatory of Flowers in the daytime, but some of these critters only come out in the evening. So you need to get on over to the Night Safari program that they have going on the first and third Thursdays of the month. They’ll be open all day and then they bring out the flashlights at 8:00 PM.

The Conservatory at night is proving to be a popular event for families but also date night option for young couples.

Look What Hatched Today at the Conservatory of Flowers – a Huge Moth

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Look at this thing – it’s like a stuffed animal. It’s a cecropia moth and boy is it big. Like this big. And here’s what it looked like in its fourth phase of being a caterpiller.

San Francisco’s Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is having its Butterfly Zone Special Exhibit these days, so you should check it out.
