Well, here it is, coming to a drug deal near you, the new $100 bill for 2013 and beyond.
You see, those North Koreans think it’s funny to counterfeit our money and this is the response from the U.S. Treasury.

Federal Reserve Announces Day of Issue of Redesigned $100 Note
The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced that the redesigned $100 note will begin circulating on October 8, 2013. This note, which incorporates new security features such as a blue, 3-D security ribbon, will be easier for the public to authenticate but more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate.
The new design for the $100 note was unveiled in 2010, but its introduction was postponed following an unexpected production delay. To ensure a smooth transition to the redesigned note when it begins circulating in October, the U.S. Currency Education Program is reaching out to businesses and consumers around the world to raise awareness about the new design and inform them about how to use its security features. More information about the new design $100 note, as well as training and educational materials, can be found at www.newmoney.gov.

Here it is, the latest VLA (Very Large Aircraft) to hit the skies. Get all the deets right here and be sure to check out the Flight Tracker – they flew over Port Angeles (and not too far from Forks, WA and La Push Beach (for you Twilight fans)).
The other VLA up there there is the Airbus A380 Superjumbo, which burns more fuel but has more seats. The test will be when you fill up both with maximum passengers and then fly a certain distance and then figure the fuel burn per passenger.
The A380 is a new plane but it’s kind of stubby and its engines are older than those on the freshened 747. Probably the A380 will win the mpg battle, but only by a few percentage points. And both manufacturers (but especially Airbus) might end up losing money on these programs. Oh well.

This was how it looked back in the day on Market Street near the Old Navy Flagship Store at the intersection of Fourth and Towne Market. The Church of Scientology had some of its members do some outreach, perhaps they still do that these days.
Anyway, you touch “the cans” and that shows how much stress you have, or something. (Actually, one thing the test tells you how much your grip changes when you hold the cans – do you think that’s a useful measure of anything?)

So, one problem is that the whole idea is ridiculous and another is that the Scientologist him/herself might be pressured into buying one of the E-Meters the metal can things are connected to. That’s something on the order of $4000 – an awful lot for a P.O.S., really. Even the eBay price seems to have no relationship to the cost of the parts used to make it. So who’s the real victim in this photo? Hard to tell.
