Wednesday, March 28th, 2012Here’s the sad story from the dude what lost his stuff at the Subway Sandwiches on Polk and Sutter:
“(3/25/2012) I was in the Subway sandwiches place at 1199 Sutter at Polk and then walked outside to get a taxi for some people I was with. I had accidentally left my phone and wallet on the table. When I returned about 30 seconds later my stuff was gone. Here is the surveillance video of who took it. Please message me or email me at racejohnson@gmail.com if you recognize her.”
Now, I say girls, I mean, I can’t tell how old they are, something betwixt 14 and 24. They act like high school students AFAIAC.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7, 2011 9/11 Reclaiming the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future will be held Thursday, September 8, 1 pm to 10 pm at the Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Ave., Oakland, and Sunday, September 11, 1 pm to 9:30 pm at the Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco. Speakers include Mickey Huff, Dr. Peter Phillips, sister of fallen firefighter David Weiss Michele Little, authors Paul Rea (Mounting Evidence: Why We Need a New Investigation of 9/11), Prof. Anthony J. Hall ( Earth into Property), Anodea Judith (Waking the Global Heart: Humanity’s Rites of Passage From the Love of Power to the Power of Love), Kevin Danaher, Joanna Macy (World as Lover, World as Self), filmmakers Ken Jenkins and Brett Smith, and radio hosts Bonnie Faulkner, Carol Brouillet and Sherry Glaser. The Toronto Hearings will examine evidence for the inadequacy of the U.S. government’s investigations of 9/11, an event which has been used to initiate military invasions and to restrict the rights of citizens. The founder of Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Erik Lawyer will hold ONE: The Event – Shifting from Fear to Love in Seattle to encourage “the choice of love over fear, kindness over anger, and responsibility rather than blame.”
The diverse speakers agree that the official 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST Reports on the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings are not believable and that an independent investigation into 9/11 is needed. Those in Toronto plan on issuing their own 9/11 report. Evidence suggests those most responsible for 9/11 were rewarded, that no one was reprimanded, and that others were scapegoated unjustly for their alleged involvement.
The Bay Area events are benefits for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance, whose mission is “to seek and disseminate truths about the terrible crimes committed on September 11, 2001, exposing gaps and deceptions in the official story, and to thus inspire more eyewitness revelations, truthful media coverage, and a movement that will bring the responsible criminals to justice and eliminate governmental and corporate policies that enable criminal elements to commit such acts.”

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011Remember that jackass mayor we had not too long ago? Remember all his unkept promises, like Citywide Wi-Fi for San Francisco?
I do. Bad times. I think it was 2005.
Anyway, these days the few areas around town you where you can rely on free govt. Wi-Fi are around federal housing projects. (One time my Samsung could see the Valencia Gardens WiFi all the way from Civic Center. Good times.)
Anyway, I guess “jtown connected” is the Wi-Fi you can get on Post in the Western Addition.

Yet Another Japantown “Better” Neighborhood Plan (BNP) Meeting This Afternoon on Sutter Street – Catered by Bushi-Tei Bistro
Sunday, July 31st, 2011I’ll give you this, the Powers That Be are doing a better job with the Japantown BNP this go-around owing, to me not seeing stuff about “no more highrises.”
And, for the first time, I see stuff about “other cultural” what-have-you.
(If that’s too cryptic that’s all right. Basically, this whole process is a focus group for the City to get reactions about what it already wants to do. If you want to participate, well then be my guest.)

I mean, is it necessarily a good thing to “expand the Special Use District?”
I don’t know. (Last year, a couple Angry Young Men were pretty p.o.’ed about one meeting being “dominated” by aging white hakujin who live south of Geary. These AYM wondered why those residing on the wrong side of the Expressway were even included in a Japantown meeting…)

Thursday, July 7th, 2011Of course the line for sandwiches at The Sentinel these days can still be quite long, but don’t forget about the Sentinel’s little brother, highly-rated Golden West at 8 Trinity Place just up the hill from Sutter and Montgomery.
What’s happened over the past year is that Sentinel customers are now going to GW as a substitute for short rib sandwiches and whatnot.
The whole joint is just two windows, one to order and one to pick up. See?
