15th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival a Huge Success Under the Pouring Sun

Monday, September 13th, 2010

If you’re into chocolate and free swag, then the 15th Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival would have been for you.

The line for a Kara’s Cupcakes mini-cupcake from their iconic truck was just insane on both days. Kara’s was the first exhibitor to run out of goods and it happened fairly quickly. Oh well.

Anyway, see the photos, and take a look at this full trip report from Garky Eats and/or Ewok1993

The wait for Kara’s might have gotten up to 15 minutes for a while there on Sunday. They had a sign denoting the flavors on the truck for part of the time anyway…

Liquid choco with Bailey’s:

And wouldn’t you just love a bangle full of mini-macaroons? Of course the macaroon is The New Cupcake, don’t you know.

See you next year!

15th Annual Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival Continues Today, Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Our 15th Annual Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival continues today until 5:00 PM.

Get all the deets about this year’s effort at Chowhound, where you’ll learn how Kara’s Cupcakes, The Cheesecake Guy, Tea-Infused Chocolates and GudFud marshmallows performed yesterday.

So, get on up there to Beach and Larkin where they’ll soon be selling tickets. The SF Romance Travel Examiner(!) hasn’t steered you wrong yet, am I right?

Imagine this says “15th Annual” and it’ll save us both some trouble:

“YOU MAY PURCHASE TICKETS AT THE EVENT AT THE CORNER OF BEACH & LARKIN STREETS BEGINNING AT NOON ON SUNDAY”

See you there.

2010 San Francisco International Chocolate Salon a Huge Success

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Throngs were waiting to get into the Festival Pavilion up at Fort Mason this AM – as promised, it’s the massive TasteTV San Francisco International Chocolate Salon.

Perhaps a bit more expensive and upscale compared with the outdoor Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival. (Speaking of which, the 15th Annual of that popular event is coming up September 11-12, 2010.)

Anyway, there are tons of people at the Salon, but the lines for samples aren’t too long at all.

Here it is from the inside:

Stirling Confections’ $25 truffle bars are a hit, once again.

And KOFY TV 20 is there doing something or other – they’re Everywhere You Want To Be these days. (Perhaps KOFY’s recent affiliation with noted Wikipedian Beth Spotswood is starting to pay off…)

It’s so totally worth it. See you next year!

Chocolate Salon! Chocolate Salon! Chocolate Salon! Coming to SF on March 20th

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

If you pony up $25 right now, then you can look forward to feeling like Homer Simpson in the Land of Chocolate come Saturday, March 20th.

Yes, the massive TasteTV San Francisco International Chocolate Salon is back for 2010 up at Fort Mason‘s Herbst Pavillion.

It’s going to be mega.

Be on the lookout for choco body paint:

There’ll be samples a plenty so check the sked and map out your journey before you go cocoa-crazy. (It’ll tide you over ’til the 15th  annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival up at the Wharf in late Summer 2010, anyway) See you there at Ft. Mason on the 20th.

All the deets, after the jump.
