Uh Oh: Many Many Outside Lands 2014 Tickets from Scalpers are Turning Out to be Fake – Here’s What They Look Like

Friday, August 8th, 2014

Like all these tickets are fake, per the SFPD:

So if you try to use your fake ticket at the box office it won’t work, sorry.

Here’s a close-up from from Cornell Banard:

How can you tell a fake from a real ticket? I don’t think you can.

Many many fakes are out there:

@KimKardashian I got sold a fake ticket to outside lands fest to see Kanye!! Can you help me????

What White People Don’t Like:

Waiting around by boxoffice watching all manner of teary-eyed white 20-somethings stomp away screaming on phones abt fake tix

What can be done?

Don’t buy tickets from scalpers. Judging by the amount of tears at the entry gate, they are almost all fake. Duh.

So, choose wisely.

(You can always try to go over or under The Wire, but that kind of thing probably won’t work.)

“Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour” Finishes Up in Oakland Tonight – A Few Tickets are Still Available

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

Last night’s show at the huge Oracle Arena was 90%-plus full, so I imagine it will be the same thing tonight. The seats aren’t cheap, but this is the official show from Michael Jackson’s family, so there you go.

Fundamentally, this is a Michael Jackson show for Michael Jackson fans (as opposed to it being a Michael Jackson-themed Cirque du Soleil for a more general audience, if that makes sense.) For more on this topic, Chloe Roth does a good job of explaining things here in the Culture Blog of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Here’s another opinion: “It’s amazing. Long, yet spectacular.”

Anyway, you’re never going to see the THIS IS IT Tour, so this is it, tonight is your last chance to see the substitute, your last chance to soak up the experience.

Bob Dylan at the Warfield – Novel Way of Ticket-Selling – Scalpers and TicketMaster Pwned?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Bluoz has the deets about all the commotion in the Mid-Market today due to Bob Dylan coming to the Warfield tonight.

“To do away with crazy surcharges and credit card fees and to avoid the threat of scalpers, the venue will only sell $60 general admission tickets the day of the show for cash only. Concertgoers can’t begin to line up until noon, doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show goes on 8 p.m.,at which time everyone must enter. While having that much cash on hand could be an issue, along with the toll it’s bound to take on security, as one source told Pollstar, this is the event “people will be looking at” to see if the model can apply elsewhere.”

O.K. then. Let’s hope somebody can bring some water to the sweating masses

See you there!

Goldenvoice Vice President of Booking, David Lefkowitz said, “Given the state of touring and how fees have escalated, it was a real breath of fresh air to do something very consumer oriented by eliminating all ticketing charges, its almost a throwback to another time. It’s been almost twenty years since Bob Dylan played The Warfield and in my opinion, he is an Artist that needs no big promotions or hoopla.  He comes, he plays, and it’s an incredible experience.”

Sir Paul McCartney to Play AT&T Park on July 10, 2010! Tickets on Sale May 24th

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Up and Coming Paul McCartney just can’t stay away from our sports stadia, right? A mere 15,971 days after playing the ‘Stick, he’s back to play the ‘Booth.

From Barbara Koh’s About.com comes the exciting news:

Paul McCartney has announced two new performance dates, the first at San Francisco’s very own AT&T Park on Saturday July 10th, and then at the Rio Tinto stadium in Salt Lake City on Tuesday July 13th, as part of his ‘Up and Coming’ 2010 tour. Keeping with his headline-making special concerts over the last few years, the tour will see the iconic star and his band play unique venues, places and locations; new cities he’s never played and familiar markets he’s not visited for a while.”

Get that? He’s not visited “for a while.” I”ll check you on that, good buddy.

(Did you know he was also in a band _before_ Wings?)

See you there!

“The July 10th concert date at AT&T Park will be Paul’s first performance within the City of San Francisco since The Beatles’ last concert tour appearance – at Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966.

The Best Way to Get Tickets for Peter Pan in San Francisco, Debuting April 27th

Monday, March 15th, 2010

J M Barrie’s Peter Pan at the world’s first 360-degree CGI theatre will make its U.S. premiere April 27th in San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza. It’s shaping up to be something like Cirque du Soleil, except it’ll be cheaper and aimed more at kids. That’s my guess.

Anyway, interest in seeing P.P. is high already, so get your tickets now if you are at all interested – there’s no need to pay the scalpers anything at this point. Und, for your convenience, starting today, you can go to a box office to get your ticks and avoid any fees. All the deets are below. Facebook, Twitter, etc.

This is the scene down at Ferry Plaza near Washington and the Embarcadero. The construction site is akin to Cirque du Soleil’s OVO traveling tent show:
