Hey, Are the People Behind the 2024 SF Olympics Bid Squelching Public Dissent by Squatting on NoSFOlympics.Org? Evidence:

Tuesday, November 25th, 2014

I think somebody should ask the Larry Baer people about this.

Here’s the theory. The Larry Baer Olympics people really really want the Olympics to come to SF in 2024, so they don’t want citizens to use NoSFOlympics.Org the way citizens in Boston use NoBostonOlympics.org. And isn’t it coincidence that right when the Larry Baer people were building out SF2024.org, some anonymous party registered both NoSFOlympics.Org and NoSFolympics.Com.

Why is that? Wouldn’t that be a little, IDK, cheesy?

Hey, look who helped out with NoSFOlympics.Com:

It’s the same outfit what’s “hosting” the official bid committee’s official SF2024.Org:

Is this a mere coincidence? IDK.

Something’s fishy though, huh?

Now You Can Protest Your Unfair SFMTA MUNI DPT SFBC Ticket Online – One Weird Trick – Here’s Your Link

Friday, November 21st, 2014

Via SF Bay’s Transportation Writer Jerold Chinn, here’s your link, Baby!

https://wmq.etimspayments.com/pbw/include/sanfrancisco/dispute_request.jsp

It’s New, it’s You. It’s Now, it’s Wow.

Of course, most of the citations handed out by the SFMTA MUNI DPT SFBC (oddly, the SFMTA/SFGov gives a lot of money to our local San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, so it acts as an arm of the government these days. Oddly) are handed out “fairly.” And I would even go as far as to say that most of the tickets protested as “unfair” were handed out fairly as well.

OTOH, there are some SFMTA employees who do bad things – they steal multiple $6 cable car fares each and every day or they say you parked for more than two hours in an RPP zone when you didn’t. And then the official SFMTA spokesmodels bend over backwards to say that no SFMTA employees ever do anything bad ever. EVER!

(And considering how often these spokesmodels get their facts wrong, well … oh well. Bygones.)

A Minor Mystery: Who’s Squatting On NoSFOlympics.Com and NoSFOympics.Org? Three Possibilities

Wednesday, November 19th, 2014

Here you go, somebody just registered NoSFOlympics last month, both the .com and the .org:

Capturedfssssf

Here are the deets:

Name DREAMHOST, LLC
Whois Server whois.dreamhost.com
Referral URL http://www.dreamhost.com
Status clientTransferProhibited
Important Dates

Expires On October 30, 2015
Registered On October 30, 2014
Updated On October 30, 2014

Now, who would do this? There are three possibilities I can think of. It was:

1. Somebody who opposes spending tens of billions of dollars bringing the 2024 Olympics to the Bay Area. Perhaps it’s just taking them a long time to get started; Or…

2. Somebody who wants to sell these URLs to the nascent anti-Olympics movement in the Bay Area. This could be called cybersquatting, by some. Or good business, by others. I mean, it’s not a crime or anything; Or…

3. Somebody who supports spending tens of billions of dollars bringing the 2024 Olympics to the Bay Area but doesn’t want people opposed to have the obvious URL. This would be a little cheesy. I mean, I’m against spending all that money but I would never register 2024SF.org just so that the boosters couldn’t use it.

In any event, somebody’s sitting on these URL’s, for some reason.

It’s an Olympic mystery…

What’s This, Our Discredited SFCTA Needs to Market Itself As “MoveSmartSF.com” These Days?

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014

Apparently

Here’s the ad for MoveSmartSF.com, which is the SFCTA, right?

So what does the com in .com stand for?

Hey, why don’t we disband the SFCTA – is that one of the choices?

You gotta figure the world-famous Market Street Cinema isn’t coming back anytime soon considering its URL has been sold off.

And I worry.

I worry about Mercedes, Porsche, Lexus, and Ferrari, among others.

How will they pay for business school now?

What we found out was, as long as you drop a lot of cash, ANYTHING goes in this place. ANYTHING. Once you’re in the “Members Only Lounge”, it’s a whole new world. Yup, Chris Rock obviously had never been to Market Street Cinema, because…yeah. Even the stripper was real with us, she was like, “You can call this a whorehouse, or a party house, or whatever, but guys come in here and spend thousands of dollars, so, we’re still here.” I doesn’t get more real than that.

Oh No, Ed Lee! Mayor Campaign Kickoff a Huge Success – Hundreds on Hand Plus Willie Brown and Rose Pak

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

(Through all of this, which is unprecedented, really, please remember: “Interim” Mayor Edwin Lee didn’t ask to be short-roped to the summit:

For her part, Pittman didn’t ask to be short-roped. As she left Camp Four at the front of Fischer’s group, Lopsang abruptly pulled her aside and girth-hitched a length of rope to the front of her climbing harness. Then, without consulting her, he capped the other end to his own harness and began to pull. She maintains that Lopsang hauled her up the slope very much against her wishes. Which begs a question: why didn’t she simply unfasten the three-foot tether connecting her to Lopsang, which would have required nothing more than reaching up and unclipping a single carabiner?

Moving on…)

Wow, today’s campaign kickoff for the Ed Lee for Mayor campaign, a Rose Pak /Willie Brown joint, went off without a hitch, with yellow-shirted “Ed Heads” heading off in all directions to gather signatures.

See? Hundreds and hundreds there were, it seemed:

Now, is Edwin Lee into the leather scene, on this day before Pride 2011? Oh hells yes, apparently. Taste the rainbow:

And look who’s outside? It’s the leaders of the Ed Lee for Mayor campaign! See them?

Here’s a peek from the sidewalk of Mission Street through the open door. It was packed, baby:

And check it, it’s San Francisco Chronicle reporter* Rose Pak having a chat with Phil Matier. Oh hey, he’s a reporter too!

Oh, here’s what she had to say:

“‘Pretty good, eh?’ Pak said, pointing to the overflow crowd that spilled out onto the sidewalk.”

Leave us depart – almost seemed as if the volunteers were eager to hit the road. (Truth be told, there was no room inside for them to hear the nobodies who were addressing the crowd.)

Step aside Leland Yee, this race has a new front runner!

*Oops, I meant former San Francisco Chronicle reporter….

The Lonely Workers of the Renegade Edwin Lee for Mayor Campaign – Plus Ed Lee Ephemera, Already!

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

Do you know these people?

I do, sort of. Anyway, I couldn’t get a thumbs-up from them or anything like that yesterday as they were preparing for today’s big Ed Lee for Mayor 2012-2020 campaign kickoff at South Van Ness and Mission.

(Frankly, they seemed, I don’t know, a little auspicious of me.)

And, I’ll tell you, I’ve seen a lot of campaigns, and, usually, campaign workers are a lot more, I don’t know, cheery.

Oh well.

Anyway, don’t miss out on your chance to collect Run Ed Run! (tambien conocido como Postule Ed, Postule!) ephemera while you can.

Now, which do you prefer?

Happy Ed?

Or angry Ed?

Again: Better A….

or B?

Is being Mayor of San Francisco like being in an Amway pyramid scheme?

You know, Mayor Willie Brown gets reelected easily (back in the 1990′s this was) and then appoints Gavin Newsom, who gets reelected easily, and then appoints Edwin Lee, who gets reelected easily, and then, in 2019, appoints _____, who gets reelected easily, and then…

It Begins: Edwin Lee, Mayor 2011-2020 – Now Up and Running: RunEdRun.Org and Run-Ed-Run.Org

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

Take your pick from these two four-day-old websites:

RunEdRun.Org

Run-Ed-Run.Org

(Paid for by Progress For All, FPPC 1338720, apparently.)

Now, is this brand new sign official Ed Lee for Mayor 2012-2016 campaign literature?

Via The Tens (Paid for by the Alliance for an Adorable Mayor)

Probably not.

Probably not yet, anyway.

But what about this, is this official campaign literature?

Straight outta Brunswick, ME and the 510, Mayor Ed Lee patrols San Francisco airspace, on the lookout for those who would poach our famous tech companies:

Click to expand, go ahead – it won’t bite

Probably not.

Probably not, ever.

But can you imagine how thrilled the business community in San Francisco would be with eight years of Edwin Lee as Mayor?

Ed Lee is:

1. Already Mayor;

2. A tax cutter already;

3. 30-50 IQ points ahead of his predecessor; and

4. Baggage-free!

But, Only Time Will Tell…

OMG, “SanFranciscoMayor.Com” is Available and For Sale – Hurray! Oh, Wait a Minute…
