Here it is, as promised, the Soogle Bus:

But uh oh, here’s what you’ll find these days on the Yelp:
“I’ve never even been on one of their buses, but I observed one of their drivers this evening on Hawthorne Street driving aggressively, honking the horn continuously at the car in front of him and overall behaving like a jerk.“
“Although the shuttle and driver were booked for 8 hours, the shuttle driver refused to drive at points of the evening! At the end of the night, the driver tried to ask for more money than was agreed upon based on an old quote the company had given. I had to pull out my laptop to show him the email that his boss had sent me to prove that I did not need to pay him more.”
“Horrible. This is NOT a real travel/ tour service. They constantly ask for more money and CASH. They are disrespectful and RUDE. They throw litter around, and stand around and smoke. They speak almost no English.”
And that doesn’t include the reviews what were taken down or the ones currently on the “filtered” page.
Poor Soogle!

I’ll tell you, my rabbit ears (avec free govmint digital cable converter box) couldn’t even dream of picking up the KNTV from all the way down in San Bruno or wherever, so I never see the Channel 3.
But lots of you do, apparently, based upon all the recent fuss about newly-installed meteorologist Christina Loren.
Per Jane B:
“I enjoy the NBC news in the morning, but as soon as that bulging self-promoting common tart of a meteorologist appears with her forced Good Morning, I just can’t wait to change channels for the duration. I would have thought NBC would have been more concerned with professionalism in their meteorologists than with this very poor image that it presents daily. And then to add insult to injury, she turns up this a.m. with a hat, supposedly, I suppose, to be in the spirit of the royal wedding – what an insult!”
Exhibit A, the “insulting” hat in question:

Now, with an opposing viewpoint, here’s the wedding hat minority report from Christina’s FaceBook fans:

O.K. then.
Comes now Rich Lieberman, who’s not infatuated with “The Hottest Weather Woman On The Planet,” not in the least, why would you even think that, to post an interview with CL, who ably strives to stay AOM, Always On Message, about being AAMF, All About My Forecast. See?

All right, it’s time to sign off with all the banal slogans used by KNTV over the recent decades:
- Look to 11 (1972-circa 1975)
- We`re The One Can Turn To, Channel 11 (1978-1979; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- You and Me and Channel 11 (1980-1981; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- Now is The Time, Channel 11 is The Place (1981-1982; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- Come on Along with Channel 11 (1982-1983; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- That Special Feeling on Channel 11 (1983-1984; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- We’re With You, on 11 with You (1984–1985; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- You’ll Love It on Channel 11/You’ll Love It, KNTV (1985–1986; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- Together on Channel 11 (1986–1987; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- The San Jose NewsChannel (1987–1998)
- The Bay Area`s Watching Channel 11 (1990-19??; localized version of ABC ad campaign)
- If It`s The Bay Area, It Must Be Channel 11 (1992-1993; localized version of “It Must Be ABC” campaign)
- The South Bay’s News Leader (1998–2000)
- The Fastest Growing News Station in Northern California (2000–2001; still used occasionally)
- The Bay Area’s NBC11 / The Bay Area’s Leading News Station (2001–2008)
- Proud To Call The Bay Area Home (2008-early 2010)
- Locals Only (2008–present; secondary slogan)
- Learn, Think, Act, Live (early 2010-September 12, 2010; primary news slogan)
- Reporting What Matters to You (September 1, 2010–present; primary news slogan)
- Every Day is Full of Color (September 13, 2010–present; general slogan)
TTFN!

Let’s just say that long-time Yelper Rosie S is not a fan of Bauer’s Limousine / Bauer’s Transportation / Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation. Why? Well, ’cause they sent a tacky van instead of a proper limo to her wedding a few months back. Check the excerpts:
The 10 passenger limo I ordered did NOT arrive. Instead, they sent us a VAN! The morning of my wedding. Not what I ordered.
I contacted the company when I returned from my honeymoon–note: they NEVER contacted me to explain the situation nor to apologize–and they said:
“I have checked with our operations department as to what happened this day and it appears there had been a mechanical issue with a regular stretch limo so they made the last minute decision to upgrade the vehicle to a limousine van. This was our next best option at the moment. I sincerely apologize that a regular stretch did not appear, but this was viewed as a free upgrade to the original vehicle reserved.”
Horrendous company, terrible service, awful fleet of cars if they have seemingly frequent “mechanical issues.” Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM BAUER’S unless you want to get ripped off and disappointed! Especially on your wedding day….
Can you believe that? Now, if I were running a crappy limo / transportation / “intelligent” transportation company, I’d feel bad about my fail whale exploding all over a wedding and I’d apologize and then I’d give a full refund, but that’s just me.
Now, speaking of crappy, how about them Bauer limousine van / bus / whatever drivers on the 101?
Speeding? Sure, we’ve got to get you to the church (or wherever) on time! But signaling? Not so much. You see, there’s no money in signaling:

Rosie says that the Bauer people didn’t respond to her until after she filed suit in San Francisco Superior Court, Small Claims Division. Oh well.
Now, judges might be sympathetic to plaintiffs in a situation like this, but you never know how they’d rule. Sometimes what’s in the contract is what matters and sometimes not so much. Oh well.
But I believe the gist of Rosie’s story – I don’t think that she’s committing Yelp fraud, I don’t think that she owns a rival cheesy “intelligent” transportation company or that she’s sponsored by one.
Speaking of which, there’s somebody on Yelp saying how great Bauer’s is but he neglected to add in or update the little tidbit that Bauer’s is a “sponsor” of his. Oh well. I’ll give you one guess how many Yelp stars he gives to Bauer’s IT.
Did you guess cinco?
You’re right, mi amiga/o. (And actually, it appears that purported “Luminary” and “City Bright” writer at the San Francsico Chronicle’s SFGate.com Zenophon / Zennie62 is incapable of ever giving anything less than five stars on Yelp. How sporting!)
Anyway, good luck Rosie!

Or, I don’t know, maybe it is. As long as you don’t mind if your veil blows in the wind straight out, like the long, long hair of Disney‘s Pocahontas.
Passers by were cheering for this couple, anyway.
