Entire West Side Wonders When Its Chipotle is Going to Get Here, at Geary and Masonic

Co-opting The Mission Burrito sure takes a long time, huh?

Artist’s conception of what the mighty sign on Masonic will look like, sooner or later:

Appears as if Panera Bread will win the race to further chainify the Western Addition

And it looks like not a single soul in the world will raise a voice against the Chipotle chain coming to 2675 Geary.

West Side Story Revival a Smash Success at Our Orpheum Theatre – It’s “Incredible” – A Grittier Production Than You Might Expect

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

The big West Side Story revival opened yesterday at our Orpheum Theatre. Now, I didn’t make it myself and I’ll probably stop telling you about theatre in San Francisco after this one, but here we go.

The thing is that this production is different than what you might be expecting. It’s grittier, that’s the best way to phrase it. Anyway, I’ve searched and searched and haven’t found anybody saying anything negative about, so that’s a good sign.

Here’s Pat Craig’s review:

It was incredible.”

And here’s another, but you’re probably better off holding off reading it. See WSS first and then come back to it:

Last night, those first 45 seconds at the Orpheum were nothing short of breathtaking.”

(And you’d think the Orpheum Theatre Examiner(!) would have something up soon, right?)

So, this is your chance to see West Side Story the way it was meant to be done.

It’ll cost you twice as much as seeing a romcom at the Googleplex, so it seems like it’s worth checking out, non?

It will leave us on NOVEMBER 28, 2010.
