Jerry Brown Electrifies Youthful Voters in SoMA – San Francisco Young Democrats Host – Orson Packed to the Rafters

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Get up-to-speed with last night’s blockbuster right here.

And here’s a full run-down from the Chronicle’s Beth Spotswood.

Here’s Attorney General Jerry Brown chilling with his posse on 4th in SoMA in front of the famous Hotel Utah last night. Also in there is Jane “The Kingmaker / Queenmaker” Morrison, the doyenne of Bay Area politics:

But let’s start at the beginning, during the Long Wait for Jerry to Show Up. Oh here, at their regular seats at the huge bar at Orson Restaurant Bar + Lounge, are Beth Spotswood of CBS 5 and Brock Keeling of SFist – they’re the reigning King and Queen of San Francisco, Bay Area, Northern California blogging:

And various…

Jerry…

Brown…

boosters…

and fans:

Oh here he is, receiving rock star treatment, it’s JB, finally:

So, after a brief slideshow, and an acoustic Semi-Charmed Kind of Life from Stephan Jenkins, of Third Eye Blind, and introductions from S.J. and Equality California Executive Director and Stanfoo Law grad Geoff Kors

…the overflowing crowd listened to Jerry’s words:

Orson was packed to the rafters:

See?

And this was the mood outside:

Time for a brief shot with the San Francisco Young Democrats*:

And a few parting words…

…with Stephan….

…and then Jerry was off in the night.

His campaign for Governor started off with him destroying Gavin Newsom’s expensive venture By Simply Doing Nothing. Jerry Brown’s campaign for Governor continued with him Saving His Pennies For October.

This approach seems to be working well, huh? We’ll find out soon enough.

*Here’s the SFYD and their local endorsements, if you’d care to take a look. And you’re young, right? Well, then you could join and get in on the fun…

Pity poor Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger – tonight he crashed the annual San Francisco Democratic Party Fundraising Gala and Auction at the Fairmont Hotel atop Nob Hill and he was rewarded with a loud round of booing.

Poor guy. Did Assemblymember Tom Ammiano spontaneously yell, “You lie” at Arnold, ala Congressman Joe Wilson? Haha!
