EITHER SFGov Authorized a Procter & Gamble Commercial what Encourages Bad Behavior of Youth OR It was Filmed Without Permits

Friday, July 28th, 2017

Where to start here? OK, so you gotta watch an ad before you can watch the content, which of course is an ad, for Gillette, which of course is owned by P&G (NYSEPG DJIA Component S&P 100 Component). And you can really tell* this is in 8K:

So let’s say that the production of this commercial for Gillette, The Best A Man Can Get, was fully authorized. That means that there would have been buy-in from RPD, The Waterfront, SFPD you name it, an alphabet soup of SFGov.

Now I know what that kind of thing looks like, it looks like this. See all those Financial District drones (ahem) laboring on a Saturday, well they were quite entertained:

And it resulted in this, an ad for Ford, more or less. It’s fantastic, with like 100,000,000 Views so far:

BUT, if the Skateboard Parkour ad was authorized, then it’s showing its star breaking the law, breaking the law, non? Like this scene might be in South San Francisco, but we have No Skateboarding signs up in Frisco as well, right?

Capturesdsssss

SO, it’s one way or another:

EITHER SFGov is selling out the goals that many area department heads claim to have OR P&G is marketing to yoots in an unauthorized fashion.

*J/K. My monitor is not even close to being able to display 8K. But hey, 8K video. What’s next, 10K? Yep. You’ll see.

The City of Bell Police Visit Frisco

Man, Bell, CA has a lot going on for being just a population 35,000 city, that’s for sure.

(Who knows, maybe SFPD detectives put on their badges and drive Frisco yoots down to SoCal, IDK.)

Biker Gang, Market Street – Going Beyond Scraper Bikes – These Looked Like Single-Speed Mountain Bikes

Monday, March 16th, 2015

Popping wheelies on the way to the Ferry Building:

The ones I could see looked like simple, higher-end hardtail mountain bikes – less trials bike-looking than what Danny MacAskill might ride if he ever came back to Frisco. They could be on Huffys too, IDK. No road bikes, that’s for sure.

This is a youth subculture with which I’m not familiar.

News for Urbanists: “U.S. Driving at Highest Level Since 2007, New Data Show” – Also, More Cars in SF

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015

So yeah, I think I know what you mean when you urbanists tell me, “Young people aren’t driving anymore,” or “Young people don’t even want a driver license anymore.”

But, IRL, vehicles registered in San Francisco, per the latest stats from our DMV, are up up up the past ten years – currently it’s around 477K. Compare that with 2003.

And you urbanists are telling me that the Great Recession has nothing to do with the decrease in the growth of driving, well that’s turning out to be wrong as well.

Who knows what the future will bring, is what I’m saying.

U.S. Driving at Highest Level Since 2007, New Data Show – Nearly Three Trillion Miles Traveled in 2013 Underscores Call for Greater Transportation Investment

WASHINGTON – New data released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) show that Americans drove nearly 3 trillion miles in 2013, the highest level in six years, confirming estimates released last year and supporting calls for greater investment in roads, bridges, transit, and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure to accommodate growing traffic volumes…

“According to FHWA’s “Highway Statistics,” an annual compilation of data from state Departments of Transportation, drivers traveled 2.99 trillion miles in 2013, the highest annual total since 2007 and the fourth-highest since such recordkeeping began in 1936.

The new data also show the number of U.S. vehicles increased to 255.9 million from 253.6 million the previous year, the biggest single-year increase since 2011…

OK then.]

[UPDATE II: Alleged super-private personal information that was not actually super-private personal information but, in fact, was useful to prove to skeptical MSM-types that people can actually have a personalized license plate what spells out “DRUNK,” REDACTED. Boy, aren’t we touchy touchy! Awfully touchy for somebody having that on his license plate in fucking Marin, the world capital of drunk drivers. I guarantee that every cop that sees your plate does a double-take. And I thought you had posted a little ditty about your plate (because you had). But if you want to trade your exciting high-profile lifestyle ride for my boring, unnamed and aging Land Cruiser, well, let’s do it, if it would help you out if your shame spiral.  In any event, REDACTED.  (In mitigation, REDACTED is NOT the publisher of Gannett Co Inc’s The Bold Italic.)]

Uh Oh: “Substantially Lower” Prices for Some Tickets for the Exceedingly Unpopular America’s Cup Yacht Match

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

Crowd estimates for some days of our so-called “Summer of Racing” have gone down more than two orders of magnitude from just last year.

Yes, that means that the estimates are now at less than 1% of  the 500,000 per day that ineffectual San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee was promising  all the way back in 2012.

Here’s the news:

“We have decided to substantially lower our charter prices to benefit spectators who are seeking a unique and thrilling viewing experience of the races from prime positioning on the perimeter of the America’s Cup race course,” said Captain Stephan Sowash.

Of course most people won’t pay a dime to watch this unpopular “gentlemen’s match” It may or may not be broadcast on free TV for a zero or negative(!) broadcast fee. And some tickets have already been refunded (which didn’t cost the Larry Ellison people  too much because how many people in the world would actually pay, really?)
